Product Overview
Multiflex chains were developed specifically for applications where the conveying surface must remain closed — free of gaps between links — even when the chain rounds a horizontal curve. Standard flat-top chains open a triangular gap between link plates on curves, which can trap or tip small products. The Multiflex design eliminates this gap through a patented top plate geometry that closes over the curve zone, maintaining a continuous flat surface throughout the conveyor path including corners and accumulation arcs.
EverPower plastic chain Australia supplies the complete Multiflex series — 1700, 1700TAB, 1701, 1702, 1702TAB, 1702M, 1702TAB-M, 1706, 1713, 1723TAB, 1755, 1765, 1775, 2700, and 9350 — as drop-in replacements for System Plast equivalents. The series is widely specified in packaging machinery, automotive component assembly, and electronics manufacturing where product security across the full conveyor path is non-negotiable. The Engineering Behind the Closed-Surface Curve
On a standard flat-top conveyor chain, each link is a rigid plate. When the chain enters a curve, adjacent plates rotate relative to each other, opening a V-shaped gap at the outer edge. On a 500 mm radius curve with a typical 25 mm link pitch, this gap reaches approximately 4–6 mm at its widest point — sufficient to catch small container bases, pharmaceutical blister packs, or lightweight retail packaging.
The Multiflex top plate is profiled to overlap the adjacent link’s rear edge when the chain bends. As the chain curves, the overlapping profile slides forward over the next link, maintaining surface continuity. The maximum gap in the closed-surface zone is less than 0.5 mm — below the threshold for any practical container base dimension. This is achieved without any additional mechanism: the geometry of the top plate itself provides the closure.
Corner Disc and Drive System
Multiflex chains run on corner discs — rotating drive discs that function simultaneously as a sprocket and a curve guide. The corner disc eliminates the conventional return section required by a standard chain curve, reducing conveyor footprint at each corner by 40–60%. The disc engages the chain underside with a positive drive geometry that eliminates the pitch elongation accumulation that occurs in friction-drive curves.
A quick-release pin design on the Multiflex chain body allows any link to be removed or inserted without disassembling surrounding links. Maintenance access on a 90° corner module typically takes under 5 minutes for a trained operator — compared to 20–30 minutes for conventional chain and curve section replacement. On high-uptime packaging lines where any stoppage is counted in cost per minute, this is a meaningful advantage.

What Our Customers Say
“We run 1700TAB Multiflex on a pharmaceutical blister-pack line with 6 x 90° corners. The gap-free surface through each corner has eliminated every product-tip incident we were experiencing with the previous chain. Zero rejects attributable to chain surface in the last 8 months.”
— Validation Engineer, Pharmaceutical Packaging, Melbourne VIC
“Quick-release pins are genuinely quick — I timed a link replacement at 3 minutes and 40 seconds. On a 24/7 line, that level of maintenance simplicity is worth real money. The chain itself has run 11 months without adjustment.”
— Line Maintenance Technician, FMCG Packaging Facility, Sydney NSW
“The 1702M magnetic top variant holds our aluminium can bodies perfectly through the 180° curve on our decorating line. We tried three alternative solutions before this one. Nothing else matched the holding force without damaging the can surface.”
— Process Engineer, Can Manufacturing, Adelaide SA
